MMK and AVTOVAZ held a coordination council
Representatives of APO RUS LLC (Togliatti) and LADA-IZHEVSK LLC also took part in the work of the council. Such events are traditional - the current coordinating council has become the 22nd in a row. Twice a year, the heads and specialists of the technical and commercial services of the two companies meet alternately at the buyer's and the seller's site to discuss topical issues of interaction, solve important strategic problems and identify promising areas of activity. During the working visit, the guests visited the production site of PJSC MMK, in particular, got acquainted with the sheet rolling shops No. 10 and 11.
At the current coordinating council, the parties discussed the implementation of the decisions of the previous coordinating council, considered product quality issues and outlined measures to improve the quality of metal. In addition, the participants of the coordination council discussed the organization of supply logistics and agreed to continue work on the development of supplies of metal products by rail containers. In addition, the focus of the meeting participants was the development of promising types of metal products for car manufacturers and the definition of additional characteristics of rolled metal for digital modeling of car parts. The parties also discussed the possibility of supplying calibrated rolled products and welding wire produced by the MMK-METIZ Magnitogorsk hardware and calibration plant. It was decided to hold the next coordination council in November-December of this year at the buyer's site.
Currently, PJSC MMK is a leading supplier of ferrous metal products for car factories and related enterprises that produce auto components. The company supplies cold-rolled and hot-dip galvanized steel to all major Russian enterprises in the industry, as well as to foreign auto concerns that localize their capacities in Russia. In 2018, shipments of metal products from the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works to the automotive industry amounted to almost 550 thousand tons, which was a record figure for the company.
