Metalloinvest modernizes equipment for blast furnace shop at Ural Steel

As part of the implementation of Metalloinvest's large-scale investment project for the technical re-equipment of blast furnaces No. 2 and No. 3 at Ural Steel, a weighing car worth more than $ 840 thousand was purchased.

Modern universal scale car with a lifting capacity of 40 t is designed to receive a given amount of charge materials and fluxes from the bunkers of the overpass, weigh, transport and unload them into skips on the charge yard of the blast furnace. The processes carried out with their help are as automated and accurate as possible.

The weighing car will be put into operation together with the modernized blast furnace # 2. The landmark event is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2020. Blast furnace No. 3 will be shut down for technical re-equipment immediately after the furnace passes warranty tests. Metalloinvest's large-scale investment project is being implemented as part of the strategic comprehensive program for the development of Ural Steel. The measures will significantly improve the efficiency of the plant and reduce the burden on the environment.
