JSC "Uralelectromed" is completing the construction of the foundation for the third stage of the copper electrolysis workshop
Verkhnyaya Pyshma (Sverdlovsk Region)
In the copper electrolysis shop under construction at JSC Uralelectromed (an enterprise of the UMMC metallurgical complex), the construction of the building frame and the installation of foundation beams are being completed.
According to the chief Stanislav Manin, a specialist in the reconstruction of the copper electrolysis workshop, the construction of the third stage is proceeding according to the schedule, the main installation work on the foundation was completed on time. At the moment, the general contractor Uralmetallurgmontazh-2 is completing the construction of the tank pit - a monolithic reinforced concrete box, on which anti-corrosion protection will be applied.
Currently, the construction of the third stage of the electrolysis workshop is proceeding in the following directions. In the technological span, the installation of columns of sub-series ramps with monolithic reinforced concrete frames continues. At the same time, reinforced concrete slabs for overlapping underground ventilation ducts are being laid and truss structures are being installed. The builders started assembling concrete and wall panels - 73 of 258 units were installed. On the roof, the assembly and installation of metal structures of the transition areas between the ventilation chambers is underway.
Note that the third stage will also operate using a baseless technology using stainless steel cathodes. The new facility will house one circulation system, consisting of 224 electrolysis baths with associated technological equipment (tanks, pumps, heat exchangers). The project also provides for the installation of two automated lines - an anode preparation machine and an anode scrap washing machine.
Recall that in February 2012, Uralelectromed JSC commissioned the first stage of a modern workshop with a design capacity of 160 thousand tons of cathode copper per year. In May 2018, a second stage with a similar capacity was launched. With the launch of the third stage, the design capacity will increase by 80 thousand tons per year.
