Sustainable development of cities and regions is today a common focus for business and non-profit organizations.
Joint activities in this direction can acquire various formats. The most popular models are charity fairs, sports races, organizing volunteer events, and conducting educational events for employees.
Long-term partnerships are most effective. For example, in 2018, a volunteer club from among the employees of the Mikhailovsky Mining and Processing Plant named after I. A.V. Varicheva (part of the Metalloinvest company) created and registered the city public organization Equality, which set itself the goal of solving the problem of social adaptation of disabled children in the city. A lot of work was done: the premises transferred by the city administration for free use were repaired on their own, the work of interest groups was organized, targeted assistance was provided to more than 220 families, more than 100 events were held, more than 250 volunteers were involved in the activities of the organization, of which 25 are developing the project on an ongoing basis , the City Council of Disabled People was created, subsidies and grants were received for the implementation of 10 projects worth about 2 million rubles, free visits to sports and entertainment facilities, inclusive classes and much more are organized.
This year, the participants of the "GOOD" conference discussed the most relevant services for working in an online format, ways to find investments in social innovation outside of grants, interaction between NGOs and the state, methodologies for conducting experiments for positive change, education for abroad and the use of corporate wellbeing practices to prevent professional burnout.
The main guest was Anne Mei Chang, an expert on social innovation, author of the book “Lean Impact. Innovations for Large-Scale Social Change ”, first published in Russia this spring.
