Severstal supplies first large diameter pipes to the USA

PAO Severstal, one of the world's largest vertically integrated steel and mining companies, has supplied 2.35 thousand tons of large diameter pipes (LDP) to the United States.

LDP was produced at the Izhora Pipe Plant (ITZ , part of the Severstal Russian Steel division of PAO Severstal) according to ASTM A252, Gr. 3 pipes have a diameter of 800.1 mm and a wall thickness of 19.05 mm.

Large diameter pipes were supplied from the port of St. Petersburg to Houston. To produce pipes, Severstal uses its own rolled metal products, which are produced by the company's 5000 sheet rolling mill located at the same industrial site with the ITZ in the Kolpinsky district of St. Petersburg. The availability of its own raw material base, steelmaking and rolling production allows Severstal to control product quality at each processing stage and provides flexibility in interaction with consumers.

“Given the successful experience and potential of this area, we will continue to focus on finding profitable export destinations. Pipes in this assortment are produced in limited quantities, so we see the potential for their further supplies not only to the American market, but also to other countries, ”said Alexander Semenov, Sales Director for Energy Companies of Severstal.
