Metalloinvest continues to modernize the equipment of the blast furnace shop of Ural Steel
A new transfer car has been put into operation at Ural Steel (part of the Metalloinvest company) as part of the blast furnace technical re-equipment program. Metalloinvest allocated 73 million rubles for its purchase.
A modern 70-tonne loader is installed on the bunker overpass of the blast furnace shop and is designed to transport charge materials from the ore yard to the ore bunkers of blast furnaces to ensure their uninterrupted and maximum productive work.
The self-propelled freight car is more adapted to the difficult conditions of blast-furnace production than its predecessor. It is more mobile and has a reliable hydraulic braking system. All mechanisms are controlled by the driver from control panels located in a comfortable cab equipped with heating and air conditioning systems. With its help, bunkering workers load up to 3.5 thousand tons of sinter and charge products into furnaces per day.
Technical re-equipment of the blast furnace shop is carried out within the framework of the comprehensive program for the strategic development of Ural Steel. Today, preparatory work is underway for the commissioning of the upgraded blast furnace No. 2. After its launch, the load intensity of the transfer car will triple.
