Metalloinvest, a leading manufacturer and supplier of iron ore products and hot briquetted iron on the world market, one of the regional producers of high-quality steel, has summed up the results of the 9th corporate competition for the best rationalization proposal in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency. b>
The competition was attended by projects of employees of enterprises belonging to Metalloinvest: Lebedinsky mining and processing plant, Mikhailovsky GOK named after A.V. Varichev, Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant named after A.A. Ugarov and Ural Steel. An independent commission has identified 16 winners. The annual economic effect from the implementation of these projects is estimated at 50 million rubles.
“The competition organizes and supports the emergence of new ideas, motivates their authors, and makes a significant contribution to the process of improving energy efficiency in the Company,” said Sergei Shcherbina, Director of the Energy and Energy Resources Department of Metalloinvest Management Company. “During the period of the competition, more than 100 ideas have already been implemented in production, which made it possible to obtain a significant economic effect and significantly reduce the burden on the environment.”
At Ural Steel, the first place was awarded to a proposal to reduce electricity consumption by smoke exhausters during periods of technological downtime. The implementation of this project will save about 8 million rubles a year with minimum implementation costs of 119 thousand rubles.
At the Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant named after A.A. Ugarov, the first place was taken by the rationalization proposal "Cascade control of pump drives", which will help to save more than 2 million rubles a year.
The first place at the Lebedinsky Mining and Processing Plant was awarded to a project to optimize heat supply systems for sewage pumping stations. The annual economic effect from the implementation of this proposal is RUB 665 thousand.
At Mikhailovsky GOK them. A.V. Varichev, the first place was awarded to the rationalization proposal "Introduction of variable frequency drive on pumps" with an economic effect of more than 1 million rubles.
The competition is aimed at identifying promising ideas for the development and implementation of efficient energy-saving technologies, increasing the personal interest of the Company's employees in rationalization work in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency.
The competition has been held at Metalloinvest's mills since 2011. Identification of the winners of the competition is based on the independent opinion of each of the members of the competition committee. The chairman of the commission is Nazim Efendiev, CEO of MC Metalloinvest. Important evaluation criteria are the novelty and usefulness of the proposal, as well as the annual economic effect of the implementation, the payback period, and a decrease in the specific consumption of energy resources.
