The annual quest-rally "Day of the Muscovite" started for the first time from the Museum of Automotive Technology in Verkhnyaya Pyshma

Verkhnyaya Pyshma (Sverdlovsk Region)

On Sunday, June 23, local fans of vintage cars celebrated a traditional holiday - the Day of the Muscovite. The event with a five-year history in Yekaterinburg was held in the format of a quest rally, which was attended by nearly three dozen "Muscovites" of all generations - from classic models to rare modifications.

This year, for the first time, the UMMC Museum of Automotive Technology became a launching pad. This starting place was not chosen by chance: the exposition contains more than two dozen Muscovites. All basic modifications of the car of four generations and rare specimens are presented in the multi-colored line. In addition, in the race, the museum was represented by its own crew, which took third place in the Moskvich-2141. The second place went to the team of Nikolai and Alexei Koreshkovs (Moskvich-412), and the first to father and son, Arsen and Tagir Grigoryan (Moskvich-2140SL).

For the team of the Museum of Automotive Technology, as well as for some other participants quest rally, this race became a kind of important training stage before the main retro rally in Yekaterinburg - “Ural Cup” (the official stage of the Russian Automobile Federation Cup in retro rally). In less than a month, on July 13, local crews will meet on the same track with leading Russian retro racers and crews from abroad.

— Although the rules of these two races are different, but participation in The Moskvich Day undoubtedly allowed our crew to tune in to the upcoming large-scale competition! - said museum specialist and crew member Yaroslav Chemodanov. - I take part in the Day of the Muscovite every year and I am very glad that I managed to take a prize. Moskvich-2141, in which we performed, is not a museum piece, but my own car, but it could take its rightful place in the exposition: the car is completely authentic. I am happy to ride it to work.

During the quest rally on the Day of Moskvich, drivers and navigators drove through the iconic places of Yekaterinburg, having previously calculated the route points using riddles and charades from the organizers. In addition, the crews needed to demonstrate their skills in figure driving. The festival was attended by fans of Muscovites from different parts of the Sverdlovsk region and from nearby territories.
