Severstal supplied LDP with unique properties for the expansion of the Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok gas transmission system
PJSC Severstal, one of the world's largest vertically integrated steel and mining companies, has shipped large diameter pipes (LDP) with unique properties to expand the Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok gas transmission system.
LDP with a diameter of 1220 mm with a wall thickness of 36 mm from steel of strength category X60 were produced at the Izhora Pipe Plant (ITZ, part of the Severstal Russian Steel division of PAO Severstal). The strip for the production of LDP was produced at Mill-5000 of the sheet-rolling shop located at the same production site with the ITZ.
The production technology provided high ductility and cold resistance of the pipes supplied without compromising their strength characteristics. This will allow the use of LDP in the sections of the linear part of the Sakhalin - Khabarovsk - Vladivostok gas pipeline, which pass in areas with difficult seismic conditions.
Severstal has again confirmed its readiness to respond to customer challenges with unique technical solutions ... It is also a successful example of import substitution - before that, similar orders were not produced in Russia, "said Alexander Shevelev, General Director of Severstal.
For reference: The Sakhalin - Khabarovsk - Vladivostok gas transmission system (GTS) is the first in Eastern Russia interregional gas transmission system. It is designed to deliver gas produced on the Sakhalin shelf to consumers in the Khabarovsk and Primorsk Territories. The GTS route passes through areas with difficult seismotectonic conditions and, in addition to the Nevelskoy Strait, crosses more than 400 water barriers related to the Amur and Ussuri river basins. The length of the route is more than 1800 km.
