Metalloinvest modernized roasting machines at Mikhailovsky GOK
Metalloinvest, a leading manufacturer and supplier of iron ore products and hot briquetted iron (HBI) in the world market, one of the regional producers of high-quality steel, modernized the roasting machines of the pelletizing plant at Mikhailovsky GOK named after A.V. Varicheva. The work performed allows more than 2.3 times to increase the production volume of fluxed pellets with basicity from 0.5 to 1.1 units. - up to 5.6 million tons per year.
An increase in the basicity of the pellets improves their metallurgical properties, which ensures high melting efficiency and a decrease in slag yield.
Metalloinvest has invested 533 million rubles in the modernization of three roasting machines.
“At the Mikhailovsky GOK, Metalloinvest is implementing a set of measures aimed at improving the quality of iron ore products,” commented the managing director of Mikhailovsky GOK. A.V. Varicheva Anton Zakharov. “The modernization of the roasting machines enables the plant to expand the range of highly basic pellets, taking into account the individual wishes of consumers.”
In the course of modernization, the first and second calcining machines were equipped with modern equipment for feeding, dosing and transporting charge components for the production of highly basic pellets. Limestone weighing machines were replaced with more efficient ones - belt ones. The supply hopper capacity has been expanded from 32 to 49 cubic meters. New pumps of increased power were installed, which made it possible to increase the productivity of the process of supplying limestone to the feed bins from 30 to 100 tons per hour. The aspiration system was replaced by cartridge filters, which provide a closed gas cleaning cycle and reduce the burden on the environment. The systems of automatic control of technological equipment have been modernized.
On the third roasting machine, modern weighing machines are additionally installed, which will make it possible to produce pellets in a wide range of basicity - from 0.1 to 1.1, depending on the needs of consumers.
