Metalloinvest co-organized an international conference on industrial safety held by the mining industry subgroup of the Committee on Industrial Safety and Health at Work of the World Steel Association.
05 July 2019, Stary Oskol - Metalloinvest co-organized an international conference on industrial safety held by the mining subgroup of the World Steel Association (WSA) Industrial Safety and Health Committee.
Host and co - the organizer of the two-day event in Stary Oskol - NLMK Group. Specialists from Metalloinvest, NLMK Group, ArcelorMittal, Tata Steel, EVRAZ, Brazilian Mineracao Usiminas made reports at the conference.
A wide range of topical issues of industrial safety in mining and dressing of rocks were discussed. In particular, they talked about the construction and operation of tailing dumps, drilling and blasting operations, the organization of transport and pedestrian traffic patterns at production sites.
The second day of the event was devoted to a direct inspection of production facilities. At the Lebedinsky GOK of Metalloinvest, the guests watched the blasting operations in the quarry, as well as the HBI-3 Complex, one of the world's largest production of hot briquetted iron.
The conference participants also visited the Stoilensky GOK of NLMK Group, including a quarry, sorting complex, thickening unit, pelletizing plant and tailings dump.
This is the first meeting of the WSA HSE Committee in Russia, the previous ones were held in 2018 in Brazil, in 2017 in Finland.
