MMK will present innovative cryogenic steels at Innoprom
MMK will present at the exhibition a technology developed at the plant in 2018 for the production of rolled products from sheet cryogenic steel of grade 0H9, which is widely used in the production, storage and transportation of liquefied and compressed natural gas. In terms of cryogenic properties, grade 0H9 steel corresponds to austenitic grade (stainless) steels. It is stronger and cheaper than analogues, which makes it in demand in the implementation of projects of cryogenic technology, construction of facilities for the transportation, use and storage of compressed and liquefied natural gas. The declared characteristics are confirmed by the test results. PJSC MMK is ready to conduct further tests of rolled metal products of grade 0H9 for cyclical operation in a cryogenic environment and for corrosion resistance. Today, more and more leading Russian oil and gas companies are expressing interest in developing the potential of LNG technology. At the same time, the equipment used for the transportation and storage of LNG (tanks, pipelines, etc.) must withstand extremely low temperatures - up to minus two hundred degrees Celsius. At present, such products are mainly supplied from abroad, therefore steel grade 0N9 of the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works is an import-substituting product. Its foreign counterparts according to TU 14-101-1082-2016 - X8Ni9 + NT640, X8Ni9 + QT640, X8Ni9 + QT680, X7Ni9 according to EN 10028-4; A353 by ASTM A353 /A353M; A553 TYPE I per ASTM A553 /A553M; SL9N520NNT, SL9N590Q according to JIS G 3127. The Tenth International Industrial Exhibition "Innoprom-2019" is held from 8 to 10 July at the International Exhibition Center "Yekaterinburg - EXPO". The main topic of the forum is traditionally the latest technological developments in industry and topical issues of the development of the innovation market in Russia. As part of the event, the Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit (GMIS-2019) will also be held at the Ekaterinburg-EXPO IEC from 9 to 11 July. It will focus on nature-like technologies: biomimetic design and bionics. GMIS 2019 aims to highlight the importance of using strategies and patterns created by nature to combine innovative solutions and sustainable design. A representative delegation of the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works will take part in the summit. Information and Public Relations Department of PJSC MMK
