LUKOIL and UMMC to test engine oil in modern diesel engines

Verkhnyaya Pyshma (Sverdlovsk Region)

LLC LLK-International (a 100% subsidiary of PJSC LUKOIL) and the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UMMC) signed a program for joint testing of engine oil in the diesel locomotives operating at the enterprises of the holding.

Diesel locomotives produced and modernized at the Shadrinsky Avtoagregatny Plant (an enterprise of the UMMC machine-building complex) will carry out two stages of testing for oil production - 1750 hours. The locomotives will test the AVANTGARDE ULTRA M3 15W-40 engine oil, one of the new developments of LUKOIL. The product will be used in locomotives of the TEM2-UGMK, TGM4B-UGMK and TGM6-UGMK series equipped with Cummis diesel engines.

The purpose of the tests is to confirm the guaranteed oil change interval for this type of equipment after 1500 hours of operation. At present, the service interval is 1000 hours.

AVANTGARDE ULTRA M3 15W-40 engine oil is intended primarily for equipment operating in severe operating conditions, as well as requiring extended oil change intervals. In addition, the product not only provides reliable engine starting in winter due to its excellent low-temperature properties, but also has a high level of antiwear and detergent-dispersant properties, which minimizes deposits and maintains engine cleanliness. All of these properties enable businesses to improve efficiency and productivity by reducing machine downtime.
