Severstal took part in the first meeting of the AMR National Council on Corporate Volunteering in 2021

On March 31, the first in 2021 meeting of the National Council on corporate volunteering of the Association of Managers of Russia ("Severstal" is a member of the Council) took place on the topic: "Environmental projects in post-pandemic conditions" at the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation in Moscow.

The main topic of 2020 was, of course, the coronavirus. Against the backdrop of an economic downturn, the green trajectory is increasingly seen as one of the few opportunities for a green and effective restart of the global economy. Business support for environmental campaigns and marathons is already a daily reality.

The meeting participants discussed trends on the global environmental agenda, how COVID influenced sustainable business development, an integrated approach to solving environmental problems, including eco-corporation tendencies.

Severstal's best practices were presented by Natalya Poppel, Head of CSR and Brand Department, who spoke about the development of environmental volunteering in the context of the company's global environmental agenda and climate strategy. The dialogue between representatives of government authorities, business and NGOs brought the positions of the parties closer together, made it possible to understand how to make support for environmental initiatives, including volunteer projects, more effective.
