The Governor of the Orenburg Region met with representatives of the team and the management of the Mednogorsk Copper and Sulfur Combine
On May 12, 2021, the Governor of the Orenburg Region Denis Pasler arrived in Mednogorsk to monitor the situation at the plant after the accident in the copper smelter.
The head of the region once again expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased worker Denis Otvalov. The Governor assessed the progress of the restoration work at the MMSK, talked with representatives of the labor collective, held meetings with the management of the plant and the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company, the head and deputies of the city. Currently, two shaft furnaces are being renovated, including the manufacture and installation of bunkers with service sites, about 180 workers of the plant and a specialized contractor are involved. Now the technological process in the copper-smelting shop has not been stopped - work continues at the Pobeda smelting unit and the cooking converter.
To investigate the causes of the accident and the accident, two commissions are working at the enterprise with the participation of representatives of Rostekhnadzor, the Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation, GMPR of Russia, Ministry of Emergencies, Combine, UMMC and others. The commission also includes a relative of the deceased, Sergey Lushin.
“I am in control of the situation in Mednogorsk and am in constant contact with the management of the plant. Today I was personally convinced that the widow and children of the deceased worker will not be left without attention and care from the plant and the UMMC. Restoration work in the workshop where the accident occurred continues in order to fully resume the activities of the city-forming enterprise of Mednogorsk as soon as possible. It is important that the plant takes into account the requests of employees: an example of such a dialogue is solving the problem of providing personal protective equipment. I hope that this dialogue will continue: it is vitally important for the workers themselves and their families, for the city as a whole, "said the Governor of the Orenburg Region Denis Pasler.

The primary tasks of the commission are: labor protection issues, improving the provision of workers with personal protective equipment and overalls, monitoring the quality of food in canteens, public transport traffic, restoring mass cultural and sports work, etc. A report on the activities of the commissions to the team is carried out weekly.
