MMK launched a new sinter plant worth 30 billion rubles
“This project will significantly reduce the negative impact on the environment,” stressed Viktor Rashnikov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC MMK. - The commissioning of a new sinter plant guarantees a radical increase in environmental safety. This is part of MMK's large-scale investment strategy, within the framework of which the plant is fundamentally renovating all production facilities at the first stage. ”
The cost of contract equipment supplied by Sinosteel Equipment & Engineering Co., Ltd (China) amounted to 6.7 billion rubles. The total capital investment in the sinter plant complex, including construction and installation work, is about 30 billion rubles.
The sintering area of sinter machines No. 1 and No. 2, which are part of the new sinter plant, is 300 square meters for each sinter tape, sinter charge layer height - 700 millimeters. For comparison: at the fourth sinter plant, which will be decommissioned with the launch of the fifth, the sintering area is 95.4 square meters, the layer height is 280-290 millimeters. The content of fines (fraction 0-5 mm) in the products of the new sinter plant will be reduced from 10% to 5%. The capacity of the new unit is 347.2 tons of sinter per hour.
The new sinter plant is equipped with 19 highly efficient environmental facilities. Each sinter machine is equipped with a sulfur trapping unit and a sinter gas recirculation system, which ensures the purification of the entire volume of waste gases. The sulfur trapping unit consists of a two-section electrostatic precipitator (dust removal) and an absorption tower using a lime solution (removal of sulfur compounds). Sulfur trapping plants provide purification of up to 2.5 million m3 /h of sinter gases with an efficiency of 99% for dust and 98% for sulfur dioxide. In addition, the complex of the factory's environmental facilities includes eleven aspiration systems with a cleaning efficiency of more than 99%, capturing industrial dust that is returned to the sinter production. The recovery unit fully recycles the resulting sludge from the sulfur trapping units - to obtain commercial gypsum from it. The recycling water supply system of the sinter plant allows collection, removal and reuse of wastewater from the industrial site.
The commissioning of the new sinter plant will make it possible to decommission the physically and morally obsolete equipment of sinter plant No. 4. As a result, it will be possible to achieve:
- reducing dust emissions by half (by 2.1 thousand tons per year), sulfur dioxide - four times (by 3.5 thousand tons per year), benzopyrene - 16 times ;
