Severstal supported the Benois de la Danse International Ballet Festival at the Bolshoi Theater
PJSC Severstal supported the holding of the XXVIII Benoit de la Danse International Ballet Festival on June 8-9, 2021 with the presentation of the Benois Prize, known worldwide as the "Ballet Oscar", in an offline format on the Historical Stage of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia.
The audience once again saw in person the brightest new works in the field of dance from all over the world, including masterpieces and specially created works by the stars of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, the Mariinsky Theater, the Mikhailovsky Theater, the Paris National Opera Ballet, the New York City Ballet, the Finnish National Ballet, the Chicago Ballet Joffrey , The Bavarian State Ballet, the Semperoper Ballet, the Hanover Ballet, the Dresden-Frankfurt and Jesus Carmona ballet dance companies.
The jury of 2021 includes prominent names in the world of ballet and artistic directors of the largest musical theaters: Yuri Grigorovich, Svetlana Zakharova, Jacopo Godani, Joaquin De Luz, Elisabeth Platel, Lily Sinh, Ashley Whiteri Edward Watson.
The award ceremony took place on the first evening. spruce and a concert of ballet stars - nominees of 2020 for the Benois de la Danse Prize. The next day, the public was awaited by the gala concert "Stars of Benoit de la Danse - laureates of different years."
In 2020, due to the pandemic, the almost finished program of the Festival, including with the support of Severstal, was transferred to online format, where regular 48-hour broadcasts of fragments of archival recordings of the Festival's gala concerts were launched on the official YouTube channel.
Artistic director and chairman of the festival jury is the president of the International Union of Choreographers, an outstanding choreographer Yuri Grigorovich.
The Benoit de la Danse International Ballet Prize is awarded annually for the most outstanding work in the field of choreography. The author of the prize statuette is the famous sculptor Igor Ustinov, a representative of the renowned Benois family.
The collection from the Festival concerts is donated in the form of personal material assistance to the most needy ballet veterans of various Moscow dance groups.
