JSC "Uralelectromed" (an enterprise of the metallurgical complex of UMMC) for the first half of 2021 produced 226.7 thousand tons of copper cathodes, which is 107.2% to the same level 2020.

According to the chief engineer of JSC "Uralelectromed" Alexey Korolev, the growth of production volumes was facilitated by stable supplies of raw materials, intensification of production processes and optimization of operating parameters.

- As a result of a number of organizational and technical measures in the copper electrolysis workshop managed to increase the current and equipment utilization rates, accelerate the unloading of a series of electrolysis baths and reduce the time for their maintenance. In 2021, Uralelectromed intends to produce 450 thousand tons of copper cathodes, which will also exceed last year's figure, - noted Alexey Korolev.

powder by 13.1%, powder products by 11.7%, selenium and tellurium by 1.9 and 2.3%, respectively.

In addition, the enterprise increased the production of antimony by almost 6.7 times. A pilot site for its production was put into operation in 2020. The raw material for the new type of product is the antimony slags of the Non-Ferrous Metals Production Branch (Verkh-Neyvinsky settlement), formed in the process of processing lead cakes. By the end of the year, the enterprise plans to produce over 100 tons of branded antimony.
