Medical oxygen of Ural Steel is included in the State Register of Medicines
Liquid medical oxygen produced by Ural Steel (part of the Metalloinvest company) is included by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation in the State Register of Medicines. This confirms that oxygen is of high quality and can be used for medical purposes. The first 20 tons of oxygen have already arrived at the Novotroitsk Emergency Hospital.
Medical oxygen is used to treat patients with respiratory and circulatory system diseases. It is necessary for patients in intensive care, in intensive care units and during surgery.
“We consider it our duty to help medical workers save lives and are ready to supply the amount of medical oxygen necessary for this. In a difficult epidemiological situation, Ural Steel is doing everything possible to help the region and to preserve the health of its employees, ”said Ildar Iskakov, Managing Director of Ural Steel.
In August of this year, Metalloinvest allocated 13.9 million rubles to modernize the oxygen system of the Kovidny hospital GAUZ BSMP. During the difficult period of the fight against the pandemic, the capacity and throughput of the system was increased 4 times, which made it possible to improve the quality and availability of medical care.
“We have one of the best indicators in the region in caring for critically ill patients. Metalloinvest always responds promptly to our requests and provides support in purchasing expensive equipment, protective equipment and medications, ”commented Pavel Afanasyev, chief physician of the BSMP.
Earlier, the State Register included medical oxygen from another Metalloinvest plant - OEMK im. A.A. Ugarova. In total, the Company's enterprises can supply more than 1,000 tons of medical oxygen per month to medical institutions.
In 2020, Metalloinvest allocated over 3 billion rubles to implement a large-scale program to counter the spread of coronavirus infection, including 550 million rubles to equip medical institutions in the Orenburg Region.
