JSC "Uralelectromed" has increased the production of light copper powders
JSC "Uralelectromed" (an enterprise of the metallurgical complex of UMMC) for seven months of this year produced 1134 tons of light powders of the PML-0 and PML-2 grades, which is 10% more than in the same period last year.
According to Alexander Krestyaninov, Deputy Chief Engineer - Head of the Engineering and Production Department of Uralelectromed JSC, the increase in production is due to an increase in demand from European and domestic consumers, in particular, from the automotive and electronics industries.
- This is more once again confirms the high quality of copper powders of JSC Uralelectromed and their demand in the domestic and foreign markets, - he stressed.
The increase in volumes was achieved due to the intensification of production processes and the use of backup equipment (electrolysis baths). Preliminarily, the workshop carried out preparation of the technological equipment that is in reserve.
The main feature of light powders is low bulk density and high specific surface area. Their branched dendritic shape can be seen under microscopic magnification. Due to it, light powders are more active in chemical processes, they are easier to apply to the surface of products, which makes them unique.
The principle of powder production technology is traditional. First, electrolysis takes place, then washing-stabilization, drying and sieving. At the end, the physical characteristics of the powder are determined, and the finished product is mixed and packaged.
Note that the production of copper powders by Uralelectromed JSC is the only one in the country and one of the largest in the world; it produces about 30 brands of electrolytic powder. Among its consumers are Russian and foreign enterprises of powder metallurgy, instrument and mechanical engineering, aviation and chemical industries.
