Employees of the Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant (BMK JSC, part of the Mechel Group) took part in the regional command and staff exercises on civil defense, which took place on the territory of the Beloretsk region from July 24 to 26.

About 100 workers took part in the exercises plant and employees of the city fire service, ambulance and police.

According to the legend of the exercise, due to sabotage on the territory of the BMK ammonia storage facility, a conditional explosion occurred, resulting in a leak of about a ton of ammonia and injuring five people. The BMK services evacuated and provided first aid to the “victims”, installed a water curtain to neutralize ammonia, provided communication, conditionally evacuated workers who fell into the affected area.

“The tasks of the exercise were completed, the algorithm of actions of the BMK services was correct. On the whole, our assessment is positive, "said Ildar Saetgareev, Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
