Severstal employees helped prepare 150 children of Cherepovets for the new school year
More than 120 employees of various divisions of Severstal from the cities of presence took part in the charitable action "Learn, kid!", organized by the Foundation "The Way Home". The funds they transferred were used to purchase stationery, backpacks, clothes and footwear for 150 Cherepovets children in difficult life situations.
Every year, Severstal employees help Cherepovets schoolchildren prepare for the new school year. This year, assistance was provided to children who started school, but their parents did not receive benefits from the state - these are children from families of migrants who do not have Russian citizenship.
Most of the participants of the action chose the remote format of assistance: they transferred money funds through the form on the website and a special QR code. There were also those volunteers who brought stationery directly to the Fund - these are employees of Severstal's rolling mill in Cherepovets. As a result, the Fund raised more funds than planned. This money helped a large number of children in need.
Severstal offers employees various forms of participation in corporate charity programs that allow volunteers to acquire useful social and practical communication skills, friendly team interaction with colleagues and like-minded people. Helping to collect children from needy families at the beginning of the school year is already a kind of tradition for our employees. We thank all the participants of the action, we really appreciate your help! " - comments Natalya Poppel, Advisor to the CEO for Sustainable Development.
