Metalloinvest upgrades its sustainability rating from ISS ESG
Metalloinvest (the "Company"), a leading global iron ore and hot briquetted iron manufacturer and supplier and one of the regional high-quality steel producers, announces an upgrade in its sustainability rating from ISS ESG, one of the leading international agencies in corporate governance and responsible investment.
ISS ESG's portfolio includes more than 170 mining and metals companies around the world. In assessing the ESG profile of companies, about 100 different criteria are taken into account, selected taking into account the characteristics of each individual industry.
As a result of the annual revaluation, Metalloinvest's rating was raised from C– to C (at the same time, the maximum current level for the industry is B), the total rating score increased by 25% to 36.25. In their report on the Company, ISS ESG analysts noted an improvement in scores for almost all criteria, with the most noticeable growth being observed in the Business Ethics area. The Company's level of transparency, which reflects the degree of disclosure of material information about the company's environmental and social performance, was rated “Very High.”
ISS ESG rating is the second international rating of the Company in the field of sustainable development. Since 2018, Metalloinvest has received an annual rating from the international agency EcoVadis (in 2021, the Company was awarded the Silver rating level for the third time, the total score increased by 5 points to 65 points, which is a record one-time increase since it received its debut rating in 2018, while the industry average is 43 points).
