Belarusian metal can go to Mongolia.
The management of OJSC “BMZ” held negotiations with a representative delegation from Mongolia.
The parties confirmed their readiness to develop mutually beneficial partnership. Recall that in 2020, OJSC “BMZ” imported 569 tons of fluorspar from Mongolia (in 2019 - 104.6 tons). This year, due to various circumstances, imports were not carried out, there is an interest on both sides to resume this cooperation.
Another topic of negotiations & dash; supplies of reinforcing bars to Mongolia. Currently, local enterprises cooperate with Russian and Chinese partners. The Belarusian side offered no less favorable conditions for the supply of our metal products. We can talk about at least half of the total supply of these products to the country (80-90 thousand tons). The issue was taken into consideration by the Mongolian side.
For reference: Mongolia, like Belarus, has no outlet to the sea. Traditionally, the country's economy has been dependent on livestock and agriculture. But in recent years, thanks to foreign direct investment in Mongolia's mining industries, based on vast deposits of copper, gold, coal, molybdenum, fluorspar, uranium, tin and tungsten, the economy has been booming. The annual GDP growth rate for the 1st quarter of 2021 was 15.7%.
