Rolled products
Rolled products - metal sheets rolled into rolls for ease of storage and transportation. The material is used in a variety of industries. The roll form saves space and allows you to accurately measure rolled products for the production of products.
Construction (roofs, facades, frames, beams)
Industry (pipes, metal profiles, machine parts)
Automotive industry (body parts, reinforcing elements)
Production of household appliances (cases, panels, fasteners)
Types coiled products
Hot rolled products are produced by the hot rolling method and are characterized by high strength
-
Cold-rolled steel has the most accurate dimensions and smooth surface; it is often chosen for aesthetically “significant” products, including household appliances and automotive parts.
Galvanized rolled steel has a protective layer of zinc, it can be used in conditions of high humidity.
Stainless steel rolled products are resistant to rust and chemicals, suitable for food, chemical industry and difficult climatic conditions.
Main characteristics
Thickness varies from 0.3 up to 12 mm, so you can choose the material for specific tasks. Thin sheets are for decorative and cladding work, and thicker sheets are for structures with high loads
The width is usually in the range from 1,000 to 1,500 mm , universal size for processing on most machines
The length of the roll depends on the thickness of the sheet and the weight of the roll, the standard weight ranges from 5 to 25 tons.
Stages of production
The production of rolled products is regulated by GOST 19903-74, 16523-97, ISO 3575 - the international standard for galvanized steel.
Preparation of raw materials - the metal is cleaned and heated (for hot-rolled products)
Rolling - the metal is rolled through shafts, acquiring the desired thickness and shape
Cooling - the material is cooled, which prevents deformation
Galvanization (for galvanized rolled products ) - the metal is coated with zinc to protect it from corrosion
Rolling - finished products are rolled into rolls to simplify transportation and storage
Advantages of rolled products
Convenient to transport and store, saves space in the production workshop or on the construction site
Economical, allows precise use of material
Easy to process, it can be cut, bent, welded and drilled
When choosing rolled products, keep in mind that galvanized or stainless materials are suitable for wet and aggressive conditions. For detailed and smooth products, cold-rolled steel is better suited; for structures with increased strength requirements, hot-rolled steel is better.
