Scope of application of aluminum fluoride

This material is obtained through a complex chemical reaction. As a result of correct formation, aluminum fluorideis a transparent crystal with constant chemical and physical properties. The main area of application of raw materials is metallurgy. But, crystals can also be used in other, no less important areas of human life.

Safety of aluminum fluoride

During transportation and storage, the raw material does not pose a great danger to humans and machinery. Crystals do not interact with the ordinary aquatic environment, without dissolving in it and without accumulating moisture in their structure. Also, most acids remain neutral for aluminum fluoride. To activate its basic properties, the crystals must be heated to a certain temperature. The main areas of application are:

  • production of various aluminum alloys;
  • increasing the thermal conductivity of the electrolyte;
  • inhibitor of secondary fermentation in the production of alcohol;
  • production of some types of ceramic surfaces.

But, as was said earlier, transparent crystals are used in large quantities in the smelting of various alloys from non-ferrous metals. Aluminum fluoride is an irreplaceable raw material that can be stored under normal conditions for an almost unlimited amount of time.

Precautions

They must be observed only when the crystals are very hot. During the melting process, high-quality exhaust must be organized in the workshop. Ensure strict adherence to the temperature range. Workers must wear respiratory protection masks and eye goggles.
