Sooner or later, at any construction site, factory, or warehouse, the question arises: where to put waste and how to remove it? Small-volume bags and containers are suitable only for small trash. If we are talking about construction scrap, broken bricks, old pallets or bulky waste, special containers are needed. A properly selected storage bin solves this problem: it holds a large volume, withstands heavy fractions and simplifies export. But in order for the container to last a long time and not create problems, it is important to consider several parameters.
Types of storage bins
Before choosing, you need to understand what kind of waste the bunker is intended for. The material, construction and volume depend on it.
For construction debris. The most durable containers are required here. Concrete debris, rebar, bricks, and heavy structures all create shock loads. Such bunkers are made of thick metal (from 4-6 mm), strengthen the bottom and corners. The standard volume is 8 m3, but there are more.
For solid household waste (MSW). This is garbage from homes, offices, shops. It is lighter than construction, so containers can be made of 3-4 mm metal. Often such bins have a lid so that the garbage does not fly away and does not attract animals.
For industrial waste. Specific production waste: shavings, packaging, defective products. Tightness and volume (up to 36 m3) are important here. Multi-lift containers are often used - they are loaded onto special equipment and transported as a replacement body.
For bulk materials. Sand, crushed stone, gravel, culverts - these materials require rapid unloading. Bunkers are made for them with a funnel at the bottom, through which the contents are poured out under the influence of gravity.
Bunker selection criteria
When choosing, pay attention to several key parameters.
Volume. The most important indicator. 8 m3 is enough for a private house or a small construction site. For large facilities, take containers for multi-lift - from 10 to 36 m3. If the bunker is too small, it will have to be removed frequently. If it is too big, it will take up a lot of space and it will be difficult to move it.
The material and thickness of the metal. 3-4 mm steel is suitable for solid waste and light debris. For construction waste - at least 4-6 mm. If the bunker is going to be outside, an anti-corrosion coating (primer and paint) is important. Galvanized or stainless steel is used for aggressive media.
