Industrial ball valves
One of the simplest and at the same time reliable ways to shut off the flow of liquid or gas is a ball valve. The handle that drives the ball valve moves only 90 degrees, completely blocking the feed channel. In the design of valves KMC Corporatio n there are no complex mechanisms that can fail at the most crucial moment. Under normal operating conditions, the product can last for several decades.
Main Applications
The universal design of the crane can be seen equally often both in the industrial sphere and in everyday life. The increased reliability of the mechanism has proven itself well in hazardous areas of production in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. It is worth adding to other, not less popular areas:
- Commercial and residential infrastructure.
- Water and gas supply and shut-off.
- Agricultural sector.
- Used on some types of mechanisms.
- Transport industry.
Since the ball valve does not require maintenance, it can be safely recommended in almost any other pipelines. To ensure performance for tens of years, it is enough just to use the tap once or twice a year so that the locking mechanism does not get blocked under the influence of negative operating factors.
Important specifications
As the main ball valve, manufacturers use either special grades of alloys that can withstand negative operating factors, or ceramic counterparts. Internal plastic seals, if the polymer is selected correctly, do not enter into a chemical or physical bond with the transported liquid or gas. Most often, important technical characteristics include:
- made entirely of stainless steel;
- damper, nickel or chrome plated;
- other, progressive methods of corrosion protection;
- using alternative sealing inserts.
Many valve manufacturers are experimenting with various combinations of metal alloys, polymers and ceramics. Not infrequently, a successful solution is patented, and is found only at a specific manufacturer of ball valves. In addition, ball valves can remain operational over a wide range of temperature fluctuations. Not only at room temperature, but also in harsh climates or sudden overheating.
