Design and functions of the slewing frame of truck cranes
The swivel frame of a truck crane is a special platform on which hydraulic cylinders, an arrow, a winch, an operator's cabin and other important working mechanisms of hoisting equipment are placed. The design is a rigid base made of low-alloy steel.
The base or main bearing element is fixed to the SLE (slewing bearing) of a truck crane. When mounting the swing frame, special bolts and a complete set of hardware are used.
Design
The rigid and reinforced configuration allows you to mount the most powerful, complex and heavy units of the machine with a lifting mechanism. It also contains drives, sensors and other security devices.
Crane swivel frame consists of the main frame. The latter houses the operator's cab and control panel.
The steel frame combines:
- longitudinal, transverse beams;
- lugs;
- counterweight (brackets);
- sheets;
- two-legged racks, etc.
The swivel frame of the truck crane is fastened with box-shaped beams. The beams are interconnected by welded sheets of longitudinal walls. Vertically placed rear pillars are welded to the walls. Stiffeners and gussets increase the stability and strength of the uprights. The base of the boom is mounted to them.
On the lower part of the frame, pads are mounted that allow you to firmly rest on the clip. On the upper part there are closed hatches. They provide access to current collectors, working mechanisms and rotating connections.
Functions and repair of the swing frame
The swing frame of a truck crane serves as a base platform where the main working elements of special lifting equipment are located. The bearing is equipped with a double row bearing with balls. The frame rotation range is 360°C relative to the fixed block of the equipment. Thanks to this characteristic, the mobility and stability of the unit is ensured. That is, the machine, without changing its location, covers a fairly wide working area.
The device is designed to transfer the loads that occur when lifting a load to the lower support frame. The transmission of force comes from the boom lifting mechanism.
Repair and restoration of the control unit will be required in case of malfunctions in the rotary gearboxes and the hydraulic system. Relief valves can also clog (accumulation of dirt, lubricating fluids). It is necessary to restore or replace the frame in case of abrasion, deformation and wear of the working platform.
