The efficient operation of trucks depends on proper engine repair. The constituent element of the internal combustion engine is the KAMAZ piston group. The power of the engine that it can develop, as well as the economical consumption of gasoline and oil, depends on this node.

Purpose and principle of operation

In the engine, the main parts are the cylinder (its sleeve) and the piston. A sleeve is inserted inside each cylinder and fixed motionless. It includes a piston. When the mixture of fuel and air burns, gases are formed. Under the force of gas pressure, the piston begins to move and transfers the movement to the connecting rod. All liners and pistons are basically the same design. They are paired with the following functions:

  • form a closed chamber in which fuel combustion occurs;
  • The piston converts the energy of the resulting gases into translational motion;
  • the sleeve directs the movement of the piston and removes the heat generated during the combustion of the fuel mixture through the walls.

The cylinder and piston are selected individually and ground in the working process. This is how the best mode and stability of the engine is achieved.

Assembly and construction materials of parts

KAMAZ piston group has several modifications depending on engine characteristics and toxicity class. Includes:

  • sleeve;
  • piston;
  • finger;
  • rings.

The set of rings consists of: piston rings - 2 pcs. compression and 1 oil scraper, 2 locking, sealing for the sleeve 3 pcs.

The piston group operates under conditions of increased mechanical and thermal loads. Therefore, parts must be made of metals with high mechanical strength, good thermal conductivity, and a small coefficient of linear expansion.

Sleeves made of alloyed cast iron are manufactured by centrifugal casting and additionally mechanically and thermally processed. Pistons are cast aluminum alloy. An anti-friction coating based on graphite and polyamides is applied to the side surface for grinding and reducing friction losses. The rings are made of ductile iron alloyed with nickel, molybdenum and other additives.
