Types of heavy-duty trolley wheels and features of their use
The organization of trade, the work of any warehouse is difficult to imagine without the movement of goods. This is made possible by the use of special carts or wheelbarrows. The choice of equipment should be carried out taking into account the carrying capacity. The main element of any cart are wheels. They are the ones who take the load when moving the mobile device.
For work with heavy loads, special heavy-duty rollers are used. The main parameters of such devices are subject to special requirements to ensure ease of movement and product safety. The cost of heavy equipment is slightly higher, but the service life is much longer.
Main types and their features
Heavy duty wheels for bogies can be divided into several types, taking into account the design features :
- with standard platform. These are some of the most affordable products;
- with rotary device. The cost of such elements is slightly higher, but they are characterized by increased maneuverability;
- pivotal. Bolts to the cart.
Heavy duty rollers can be made of metal or synthetic materials (nylon, polyamide, polyurethane). The contact layer is usually made of rubber, which protects the floor from damage and scratches.
When choosing a video, you need to pay attention to quality. Ideal if the product provides a smooth ride, absorbs vibration and noise. The parameters affect the safety of the cargo, as well as the ease of use of the trolley. If the rollers are not selected correctly, this will lead to vibrations and beating of the platforms, which will eventually cause their destruction. Wheel material wear out much faster.
Features of choice
If you need to purchase heavy duty rollers, you must consider whether the products meet the following criteria:
- no marks on the floor;
- comfortable transportation of goods. Calculation - at least 250 kg of load per roller;
- lack of strong vibrations and noises when moving the cart;
- high resistance to corrosion;
- lack of reaction to chemicals and aggressive substances;
- resistance to premature wear at high loads;
- preservation of the basic qualities and characteristics in a wide temperature range (from -45 to +60 degrees).
When choosing a material, you must first of all focus on the carrying capacity that each wheel must provide. If this indicator is not taken into account, the roller will wear out faster and fail. For the production of heavy goods, as a rule, modern composite materials are used, and the central part is made of metal. Thanks to the stiffening ribs, the roller can withstand serious loads. Its carrying capacity is on average 4-5 times higher than that of conventional products.
An equally important criterion when choosing is the environment in which the cart will be used. If exposure to aggressive substances and elements is possible, purchase wheels with chemical resistance. Such products are more practical where others cannot last long. If it is important to preserve the integrity of the flooring, pay attention to polyurethane foam products. These rollers do not leave scratches or marks on tiles and parquet. Polyurethane wheels are also quite elastic, abrasion resistant, do not crack.
