Elon Musk presented Starship

On Monday, SpaceX CEO updated his Twitter avatar with the Starship concept. An under development vessel with a unique engine design is expected to go to Mars in the 2020s.

The launch sparked excitement in the SpaceX fan community as the Starship's design was still shrouded in mystery. The ship was originally named Falcon 9, then in November 2018 Musk renamed it Starship, simultaneously introducing its stainless steel model. This metal is intended for use as part of a transpiration cooling system, where liquids pass through a porous surface to maintain low temperatures. The rocket essentially sweats to reduce heat build-up.

This concept, chosen by Musk, was created by Gravitation Innovation. The team is releasing several concept renderings for Musk's future rocket, similar to the one used in his avatar image.
