The world's first magnetic levitation train with a speed of 600 km /h rolled off the assembly line in China

A new high-speed magnetic levitation train rolled off the assembly line in China on Tuesday. It is the world's first magnetic levitation train with a design speed of 600 km /h.

The new magnetic levitation transportation system has been publicly unveiled in Qingdao City, Shandong Province, East China.

The train, completely independently developed by China, is the country's latest scientific and technological achievement in the field of rail transport, according to the China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation.

“The train uses electromagnets to hang over the rails, and since there is no friction from contact with the railway lines, the train can move quietly and smoothly,” said Liang Jianying, deputy general manager and chief engineer of CRRC Qingdao Sifang.

The maglev train is the fastest mode of transport at a distance of 1500 km in terms of actual travel time. The journey from Beijing to Shanghai takes about 2 hours by air, 5.5 hours by high-speed rail, and only about 2.5 hours by high-speed maglev train, taking into account preparation time.
