The European stainless steel sheet metal market is going through a difficult period characterized by slow order arrivals and a downward trend in prices for rolled steel, according to stainless steel processors and service centers.
Several factories in Europe lowered their supply prices in May by about 20-30 euros per ton ($22-34), while the volume of orders remains under pressure. The stainless steel manufacturer is reportedly conducting a gradual weekly price reduction, and this trend is expected to continue. The increase in roll prices in March did not bring the desired results, as buyers, faced with market uncertainty and declining demand, decided to reduce purchases, Kallanish notes.
