Swedish stainless steel manufacturer Fagersta Stainless has commissioned Italian manufacturer Danieli to install a new stainless steel crimping plant with a capacity of 70,000 tons per year at its factory in Fagersta. The plant is scheduled to be launched by the end of 2018. 2026.
This plant will produce round bars and blanks with a diameter of 35-220 mm, which will expand the product range and increase production flexibility. The mill will operate in three modes. The ingots/blanks will be processed directly at the rolling mill into blanks with the possibility of their immediate shipment for rolling at the existing rolling mill without any storage/reheating stages, which allows for the highest compression rates with a minimum grain size.
Scope of application The supply also includes the modernization and certification of the crushing mill crate using Danieli automated process control systems.
