The prices of rolled steel products in Europe remained stable during the week until Thursday, August 28, after several weeks of lull in trade during the summer holidays and new deals with Italian exports.
Italy
The domestic market for rolled steel products in Italy was stable during the pricing period, and several export deals were concluded to Northern Europe at a price of 610 euros per ton exw.
But sources said that trading volume remained limited and low domestic demand reflected a slowdown in price growth during the holidays.
Fastmarkets' weekly price estimate for 8-40 mm domestic steel sheet, exw price in Southern Europe on Thursday was 590-620 euros (689-724 dollars) per ton, unchanged from August 7.
"There is no real recovery in the market yet, but there will be more[post-summer]discussions next week and probably more clarity on prices," said a source in the production association
Northern Europe

Fastmarkets' weekly price estimate for domestic-made 8-40 mm steel sheet, exports to Northern Europe on Thursday amounted to 630-670 euros per ton, unchanged from a week earlier.
