Voestalpine warehouse, railway segments report on important projects

Voestalpine management announced on Wednesday that Voestalpine has received the largest order in the High bay warehouse segment in the group's history.

From the end of this year, the Austrian group of companies will implement a major project for a logistics service provider in Turkey, the statement said, without naming the customer. "It will be a 200-meter-long, 60-meter-wide, 40-meter-high hall that will use 10,000 tons of beams," executive director Herbert Eibensteiner said during a virtual conference watched by Kallanish.

He also announced the completion of the Metal injection Molding division's project in the United States, the expansion of a production facility for the manufacture of longitudinal beams for trucks in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The start of production here is scheduled for July 2026, and 100 of the 110 new employees have already been hired.

An important milestone for the Railway Systems business unit in Austria is the upcoming opening of the Koralmban railway in December. According to Eibensteiner, the Koralm tunnel, the sixth longest railway tunnel in the world, represents a role model for future railway infrastructure projects and Austria's main achievement. Voestalpine has equipped the project with high-quality rails and high-tech switches, fastening systems, as well as alarm and security systems.

As for its activities on the railways, the group is optimistic about the near future. The most problematic sectors - mechanical engineering, construction and consumer goods production - are expected to remain at least stable at their current levels, the group said.

As for the regions, low economic growth in Europe is expected to continue until the end of the group's fiscal year, March 2026. In North America, most economists expect economic growth to continue during the reporting year, which will benefit voestalpine's businesses in the United States. In Brazil, the industry is under pressure from high interest rates, the US tariff policy and the influx of imports of Chinese origin.

China, on the other hand, has maintained its upward trend, especially in the industrial sector, and this is unlikely to change significantly before the end of the fiscal year, voestalpine believes.
