Thyssenkrupp expands presence in North America with acquisition of Aceroteca

Thyssenkrupp Materials Services has announced the acquisition of a controlling stake in the Mexican company Aceroteca Trading, which is a strategic step to expand its presence in North America and support the growing trends in the field of shoring.

Aceroteca operates a carbon steel flat steel processing and service center in Santa Catarina, part of the Monterrey metropolitan Area, one of Mexico's most important industrial regions.

The company offers a modern and scalable technology platform that ensures closer communication with customers, shorter lead times and increased supply chain efficiency. According to Heather Wijdekop, CEO of the recycling business unit, the deal strengthens the company's ability to adapt to the demands of localized production and distribution.

Customer opportunities and reach are expanding

Aceroteca currently supplies products to industries such as heating, cooling, and power transmission, as well as providing additional capacity to both existing and new customers. The deal is expected to expand the presence of thyssenkrupp Materials Services group in the region, engaged in the processing of rolled materials. Although the initial focus was on carbon steel flat rolled products, the platform offers the potential to expand into other product segments.
