A study conducted for European Steel by MEPS. The review showed that the expectation of amendments to quotas and tariffs on steel imports in the United Kingdom led to a significant increase in the cost of coils in March. Subsequently, on April 1, a new quota for Turkish-made metal-coated sheet was introduced, and starting in July, a widespread reduction in quotas and a doubling of tariffs exceeding the established quotas are expected.1
