The government is preparing the privatization of the Mykolaiv alumina Plant

Mykolaiv Alumina Plant will be looking for a core investor, and one of the key conditions for its privatization will be compliance with environmental safety requirements.

This was stated by Deputy Minister of Economy Daria Marchak during a briefing in Mykolaiv, Ukrinform reports.

According to her, the state plans to put the Mykolaiv alumina plant up for auction by the end of 2026. Currently, the final terms of privatization have not yet been formed, but the environmental aspect has already been identified as one of the priorities, and no decisions should pose a threat to security. In particular, we are talking about sludge fields, the sawing of which poses an environmental danger to residents of the surrounding areas.

Responding to a clarification regarding the possible redesign of the enterprise, Marcak stressed that the government is counting on a core strategic investor.
