MEPs introduced the first international guest of the Indian podcast

The portrayal of India as the "new China," unstable global geopolitics, and the accuracy of MEPs' forecasts on steel prices are some of the topics discussed in the new Men of Steel podcast.

Head of Price analysis and producer Kay Ayub traveled to Mumbai to participate in the latest episode of the steel-themed show hosted by Heena Steel founder Bhavin.

Thus, she became the first female guest of the podcast after recent releases that featured interviews with Ramesh Agrawal, director of Real Ispat and Power, and Nitin Kabra, co-founder of Bhagyalakshmi Rolling Mills.

Ayub said, "India produced 165 million tons of crude steel in 2025 and has set ambitious production targets for 2030. My visit to India was a great opportunity to chat with some of the people at the root of this growth trend, and participating in the "Men of Steel" podcast was a real highlight of the trip."

I presented "Men of Steel" with a global perspective. In the first issue of the popular podcast, which was also declared "international", Ayub talked about,:

  • Are India's rising productivity and rapid growth in steel production turning into the new China
  • How the new strict tariff quotas will reduce the export opportunities of Indian manufacturers to the EU and the UK
  • The continuing impact of the Middle East conflict, regardless of the peace agreement
  • The MEPs' forecast for 12 months is 90-95% accurate
  • The advantages of working as a woman in a male-dominated industrial sector

The latest edition of the "Men of Steel" podcast, titled "Kaye Ayoub on How Iran-Israel, Trump Tariffs and Geopolitics affect Steel Prices," is available in both English and Hindi
