The Head of the State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources of Ukraine shared his experience in implementing projects for the extraction of critical raw materials in Ukraine and the synergy of building elements of permanent supply chains between strategic partners.

“Ukraine has significant resources of mineral raw materials. We have 20 of the 30 strategically important minerals listed as critical for the EU. These are lithium, titanium, zirconium, tantalum, niobium, nickel, cobalt and others. We invite foreign investors to explore and develop subsoil areas with deposits of strategic raw materials through participation in electronic auctions, as well as to participate in existing projects at already licensed facilities through business partnerships, ”said Roman Opimakh, Chairman of the State Geological Survey, during the sixth scientific conference“ Energy Security - Foundations and Development Prospects ", which took place in Poland at the Rzeszow University of Technology.

He also stressed the importance of exchange of experience between Ukraine and foreign partners to deepen cooperation in the mining industry. According to the head of Gosgeodnedr, the implementation of projects in the field of critical raw materials and batteries with the support of international investments will allow Ukraine to integrate into modern high-tech processes for the extraction, enrichment and manufacture of "metals of the future" to ensure a sustainable "green transition".

As a reminder, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmyhal and Vice President of the European Commission Shefchovich signed a Memorandum on strategic partnership in the field of raw materials between Ukraine and the European Union. This is an important step towards deepening relations in the political and economic spheres between Ukraine and the EU.
