Tk accelis, the renamed distribution and trading division of thyssenkrupp group, has expanded its steel processing site in Stuttgart.
The plant, part of the tk accelis Processing Europe division, processed the first 500 rolls on a new slitting line, which allows processing particularly thin materials, including electrical tape, for promising applications.
In addition, a digital packaging integration line has been put into operation, focused on better and more controlled recycling, the company notes. The new plant is designed to improve the efficiency, quality and reliability of the process through smooth integration of processing and packaging processes.
Thanks to the new cutting and packaging line at the Stuttgart plant, the processing capacity is up to 350,000 tons per year. The slitting line is part of an integrated installation that optimizes material flows and allows the processing of materials from 0.2 to 5.0 mm thick.
"The digital integration of manufacturing and packaging processes reduces manual processing, paper documentation, and promotes more efficient use of resources," says Markus Wel, CEO of accelis Processing Europe.
He also emphasizes that the company is strengthening its competitive position by "providing the opportunity to process strips of electrical steel, a key material for various applications."
