OJSC MMK-METIZ, with the support of the Federal Investment Fund, opened a new production of fasteners and wire

OJSC MMK-METIZ, part of the PJSC MMK Group, launched a new production of import-substituting fasteners and wire. The total investment in the project amounted to 1.5 billion rubles. Of these, 500 million rubles in the form of a preferential loan were provided by the Federal Industrial Development Fund (IDF) for the purchase of high-tech equipment.

The volume of production of reinforcing, galvanized and welding wire will be more than 105 thousand tons per year, and engineering and railway nuts – 4.2 thousand tons per year. In their production, exclusively domestic raw materials are used.

The new production of MMK-METIZ is aimed at meeting the growing demand for hardware products and reducing the volume of imports on the Russian fastener market. Previously, according to the company's estimates, the share of supplies of welding alloy wire and engineering nuts from abroad reached 50%.

The IDF loan funds were used to purchase modern equipment: drawing mills, rewinding machines, heat treatment and galvanizing lines for wire , lines for the production of fittings, nut-threading machines, a set of furnace installations. The company has created 110 new highly productive jobs.

“The main strategic goal of OJSC MMK-METIZ is the creation of a high-tech complex for the production of modern types of metal products. We turned to the Industrial Development Fund for support, since the terms of cooperation and the organization of the Fund’s investment activities are confirmed by its high reputation among numerous industrialists and entrepreneurs. Now we can offer our consumers new high-quality hardware products,” said Sergei Dubovsky, director of OJSC MMK-METIZ.

Large industrial enterprises, including PJSC Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works, will become consumers of hardware products.

Reinforcing wire is widely used in the construction industry in the manufacture of reinforced concrete products, frames and decks, welding wire - by metallurgical enterprises for automatic welding of seams of oil and gas pipes, and galvanized wire - for the production of steel ropes, mesh and fencing, cable armoring.

Railway nuts are used in railway fastenings of the superstructure of the track, and machine-building nuts are used in all industries for fastening various structures.
