Laying of Nord Stream 2 in Danish waters is to be completed by the end of April

The construction of two strings of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in the exclusive economic zone of Denmark is scheduled to be completed by the end of April 2021, according to an updated notification from the construction operator Nord Stream 2 AG on the portal of the Danish Maritime Agency.

Earlier on the timing of the construction it was reported that it should begin on January 15, 2021, and the completion date was not specified.

The updated message also contains a list of construction vessels involved in the construction: these are still the Fortuna pipelayer and the Baltic Research and Murman construction vessels.

Nord Stream 2 AG did not comment further on the published message.

The pipe-laying vessel Fortuna, which began work on the resumption of construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline on January 24, has successfully carried out sea trials and today began pipe-laying in Danish waters, ”the construction operator Nord Stream 2 AG said in a comment.

However, on the morning of February 7, the pipelayer stopped due to worsening weather conditions in the Baltic.
