Interpipe in Kotyabra reduced steel production by 35%
Ukrainian industrial company "Interpipe" in January-October this year increased steel production by 23.2% compared to the same period last year - up to 790 thousand tons.
As reported in the monthly report of the company on Friday, for 10 months the production of pipes increased by 28.8% - to 499.7 thousand tons, the production of railway products decreased by 12.2% - to 141.5 thousand tons.
In October, steel smelting amounted to 63.2 thousand tons (in September - 96.7 thousand tons), pipe production - 56.3 thousand tons (66.3 thousand tons), railway products - 14 thousand tons (14.8 thousand tons).
Pipes in January-October were sold in Europe (25%), the MENA region (24%), Ukraine (19%), the American continent (18%), the CIS (12%) and other regions (2%) ... In October, pipes were sold in Europe (30%), Ukraine (30%), the MENA region (18%), the CIS (10%), the American continent (9%) and other regions (3%).
For 10 months, railway products were sold in the CIS (40%), Europe (33%), Ukraine (13%), the MENA region (3%), the American continent (5%) and other regions (6 %). In October - in Europe (37%), Ukraine (27%), the CIS (25%), the MENA region (4%), the American continent (6%).
According to Interpipe's commentary, in October this year, the company's trading activity in both the pipe segment and the railway segment slowed down after several months of continuous growth, mainly due to the structure and delivery schedule.
At the same time, in October, the total sales of pipe products decreased by 33.9% compared to the previous month - to 40 thousand tons, for ten months of this year increased by 16.6% versus the same period last year - to 459.1 thousand . tons.
Sales of pipes in the oil and gas segment (OCTG) in October fell by 64.2% versus September in all major markets, to 8.3 thousand tons. Deliveries fell after a peak in September as some volumes were pushed back to November. However, on an annualized basis, sales of this range of pipes increased 2.04 times to 135.3 thousand tons. The volume of pipeline sales in October also decreased - by 24.8% versus September, to 22.5 thousand tons after the record volume of sales in September. At the same time, for ten months-2021 the growth amounted to 5.6% - up to 257.5 thousand tons.
Sales of mechanical pipes in October decreased by 25.8% month-on-month to 2.2 thousand tonnes due to lower sales in Ukraine and Belarus. In addition, there were sales to Saudi Arabia in September, making this month a high base for comparison. In January-October, sales of such pipes amounted to 20 thousand tons, with a 37% increase over the same period last year.
Sales of welded pipes in October increased by 54.6% versus September, to 7.1 thousand tons, mainly due to an increase in the supply of small diameter pipes to Europe, as well as to the domestic market. In general, for ten months of 2021, sales fell by 32.3% compared to the same period in 2020, to 46.3 thousand tons due to soaring prices for cold-rolled steel (HRC) at the beginning of this year.
The volume of sales of railway products in October decreased by 18.8% versus September, to 14.1 thousand tons due to a decrease in sales to the CIS countries and a suspension of the delivery schedule to India (in September, 8% of the total volume was sold there. sales). In general, for ten months of 2021, sales of railway products decreased by 12.7% - to 142.5 thousand tons, however, the gap in volumes compared to 2020 is gradually narrowing.
As reported, Interpipe in 2020 reduced steel production by 11.2% compared to the previous year - to 758.7 thousand tons, pipe production decreased by 20.9% - to 464 thousand tons, production railway products - by 8.3%, to 190.6 thousand tons. In 2020, Interpipe sold 662 thousand tons of finished products, including 192 thousand tons of railway products. Railway products are sold under the KLW brand.
