Ukraine at the beginning of 2021 increased foreign exchange earnings from the export of ferrous metals by almost 40%
Metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine in January-April of this year increased revenues from the export of ferrous metals by 38.5% compared to the same period last year - up to 3 billion 723.355 million dollars. In April, earnings from the export of ferrous metals amounted to $ 1 billion 53.328 million.
According to updated statistics released by the State Customs Service (GTS) of Ukraine on Tuesday, ferrous metals accounted for 19.5% of total receipts from export of goods during this period against 16.71% in the first four months of last year.
Import of ferrous metals for the four months of this year increased by 9.1% - up to 324.148 million dollars. In April, this figure was $ 109.907 million.
In addition, Ukraine in January-April 2021 increased the export of metal products by 13% - up to 332.462 million dollars. In April, overseas sales of such items rose to $ 96.393 million.
Import of metal products in four months increased by 13.7% - up to $ 291.079 million. In April, they were imported for $ 81.604 million.
As reported, the metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine in 2020 reduced revenues from the export of ferrous metals by 12% compared to the previous year - to 7 billion 690.378 million dollars. At the same time, Ukraine in 2020 reduced imports of similar products by 17% - to 1 billion 39.742 million dollars.
In addition, Ukraine in 2020 reduced the export of metal products by 13.2% - to $ 904.533 million. Over the year, imports of metal products decreased by 20% - to $ 879.687 million.
