From 2030, only electric buses will be allowed on bus routes in Ukraine
The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine has developed a draft law “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine“ On Automobile Transport ”regarding the stimulation of the use of vehicles equipped with electric motors”.
The document, in particular, provides:
- ensure the use of electric buses in the field of regular passenger transportation, having established that from 01.01.2030 only electric buses will be allowed for transportation;
- to supplement the mandatory conditions of the competition for the carriage of passengers with a norm providing for the presence of a minimum percentage of electric buses in the carrier's fleet: at least 20% as of 01.01.2025, at least 40% as of 01.01.2027, at least 80% at 01.0 .2029.
Also, the bill proposes to introduce a percentage quota for domestically produced electric buses in the fleets of automobile carriers.
“Automobile carriers, automobile self-employed carriers in the quantitative composition of the electric bus fleet must have at least 90% of domestically produced electric buses, which must account for at least 85% of the seats for passengers out of the total number of seats for passengers with which the fleet of electric buses is equipped carrier ", - the document says.
The bill was developed to implement certain provisions of the Association Agreement with the EU and Directive 2009/33 /EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 23, 2009 "On the promotion of clean and energy efficient vehicles for road transport.
