Ukrainian industrial company "Interpipe" in January-August 2021 increased steel production by 22.7% compared to the same period last year - up to 630.4 thousand tons.

As reported in the monthly report of the company on Friday, for eight months of 2021, pipe production increased by 22.3% - to 377.1 thousand tons, the production of railway products decreased by 13.4% - to 112.7 thousand tons. tons.

In August, steel smelting amounted to 95.4 thousand tons (in July - 77.7 thousand tons), pipes - 60 thousand tons (55 thousand tons), railway products - 15.2 thousand tons. tons (15.5 thousand tons).

It is also reported that pipes in January-August of this year were sold in Europe (26%), the MENA region (25%), Ukraine (17%), the American continent (16%), the CIS (12%) and other regions (3%). In August, pipes were sold in Europe (20%), Ukraine (18%), the MENA region (35%), the CIS (11%), the American continent (15%) and other regions (1%).

Railway products for eight months of 2021 were sold in the CIS (43%), Europe (33%), Ukraine (10%), the MENA region (3%), the American continent (5%) and other regions (6% ). In August - in the CIS (41%), Europe (31%), Ukraine (11%), the MENA region (5%), the American continent (3%) and other regions (10%).

According to Interpipe's commentary, this August saw an increase in the company's trading activity both in pipes and railroad products after a seasonal decline in July. At the same time, the total sales of pipe products increased by 23.9% to the previous month - up to 55.7 thousand tons, for 8 months-2021 increased by 15.5% against the same period last year - to 358 thousand tons.

Sales of pipes in the oil and gas segment (OCTG) in August increased by 29.5% versus July - to 18.8 thousand tons, mainly due to strong demand in the MENA region. However, it noted that the OCTG sales figure for July was reduced following a final audit. For eight months of 2021, sales volumes increased by 76.5%, to 103.6 thousand tons.

Sales volumes of line pipes in August increased by 13.8% versus July, to 29 thousand tons against the background of growth in all key regions: MENA, CIS and Ukraine. At the same time, for 8 months-2021 the growth was 10.7%, up to 205 thousand tons. Sales of general-purpose pipes (so-called mechanical pipes) in August increased by 19.6% versus July to 2.4 thousand tonnes amid record sales of boiler houses and cold-rolled pipes in the domestic market.

In January-August, sales of such pipes amounted to 14.9 thousand tons with a 27% increase over the same period last year. Sales of welded pipes in August increased by 87.1% versus July, to 5.5 thousand tonnes amid falling prices for hot-rolled steel, which restored global demand for welded pipes, in particular, as a result, sales of such products in Europe increased by more than three times.

However, in general, for eight months of 2021, sales fell by 36.4% compared to the same period last year, to 34.6 thousand tons.

The volume of sales of railway products in August increased by 10.3% versus July, to 14.6 thousand tons due to an increase in supplies to India and Turkey. In general, for 8 months of 2021, sales of railway products decreased by 15.5%, to 111 thousand tons.

As reported, Interpipe in 2020 reduced steel production by 11.2% compared to the previous year - to 758.7 thousand tons, pipe production decreased by 20.9% - to 464 thousand tons, production railway products - by 8.3%, to 190.6 thousand tons.
