The most diverse types of hydraulic structures, natural coastlines in critical places, pits and quarries need additional measures to protect against the physical effects of water. And if we are not talking about the architectural aesthetics of the place to be strengthened, the best option is to use the Larsen sheet pile on a temporary or permanent basis. A product made of metal, wood, concrete or plastic is a gutter:
- Specific dimensional parameters (length, width).
- Having a so-called "trough-shaped" shape with a given wall depth and sufficient thickness to contain the pressure of water.
- Equipped with Z- or L-shaped locks. One end of the tongue is hooked by the lock to the end of the other, creating a fairly monolithic barrier.

Quality and size parameters
The stability of the entire protective structure depends on the quality and reliability of each sheet pile installed in a single barrier. Sheet pile L5-UM, manufactured at the Nizhny Tagil Metallurgical Plant:
- Product manufactured using hot-rolled technology with high strength and elasticity parameters.
- Includes alloying additives (up to 0.5% copper) to increase resistance to corrosion.
The use of high-quality carbon steel St240, 270, 320 or 355 (depending on specifications) allows you to reuse sheet piles after dismantling the structure. Sheet piles do not deform even with significant prolonged physical exertion.
The company produces sheet piles with Z-type locks in products with a length of 6 to 24 m. The calculation of the mass of the sheet pile is carried out taking into account its total length, the weight of one linear meter is 113.8 kg. When drafting a future protective structure using the L5-UM sheet pile, the following technical characteristics are taken into account:
- Shelf thickness is 11 mm.
- Profile height - 236.5 mm.
- Profile width – 543 mm.
